Day 1: Arrival & Kampala City Tour. Welcome to Uganda! After arriving and settling in, we'll head out to explore Kampala and get our first taste of life in the Pearl of Africa. We'll visit the Mengo King's Palace, before heading to the Gaddafi Mosque for some of the best views across Kampala. We'll also experience the city like a local with a Boda Boda ride and see Kampala's colourful markets, where you'll see everything from fresh Ugandan fruits and vegetables to local foods. It's the perfect introduction to Uganda before the safari adventure really begins. Overnight in Entebbe.

Day 2: Ziwa Rhino Tracking & Murchison Falls National Park. After breakfast, we leave Kampala behind and begin our journey north towards Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda's largest national park. Along the way we'll stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where we'll track rhinos ON FOOT. Getting this close to one of Africa's most incredible animals while walking through the bush is an experience in itself and also gives us our first chance to start ticking off the Big Five. After lunch, we'll continue to Murchison Falls National Park and visit the Top of the Falls, where the mighty River Nile is forced through a tiny gorge before crashing down with incredible power below. Overnight in Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 3: Murchison Falls Game Drive & Nile Boat Safari. Today is a proper safari day! We'll start early with a morning game drive through the northern section of Murchison Falls National Park, searching for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, Uganda kob, waterbuck and, if we're very lucky, leopard. After lunch we'll swap the safari vehicle for a boat and cruise along the River Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls. Keep your eyes peeled for huge pods of hippos, crocodiles, elephants and incredible birdlife along the riverbanks before we reach the falls themselves. Seeing the Nile explode through the narrow gorge from below gives you a completely different perspective of just how powerful Murchison Falls really is.
We'll finish the day with a short evening game drive on our way back to the lodge. Overnight in Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 4: Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest National Park. Today is a travel day as we leave Murchison Falls and make our way south towards Kibale Forest National Park. The drive takes us through the beautiful countryside of western Uganda, passing traditional villages, farms and the Albertine Rift Valley along the way. We'll stop for lunch during the journey before continuing to Kibale, one of Uganda's most important rainforest regions and home to an incredible variety of primates. Once we arrive, we'll check into our lodge and relax for the evening. Overnight near Kibale Forest National Park.

Day 5: Bigodi Swamp & Local Community Experience. After breakfast, we'll head to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk through the swamp and forest. This area is packed with wildlife and we'll be keeping an eye out for several species of monkeys including red colobus, vervet monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys, blue monkeys and grey-cheeked mangabeys, as well as some of the hundreds of bird species found in the area. We'll then spend some time with the local community and get an insight into everyday Ugandan life. We'll learn about local coffee production, try our hand at traditional basket weaving with local women and see how banana beer is made. After lunch, we'll continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park for the next part of our safari adventure. Overnight in Queen Elizabeth Park.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari. Today we head into Kyambura Gorge for just one of the trip's biggest wildlife experiences - chimpanzee tracking. We'll trek through the gorge with expert guides searching for wild chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Hearing them in the forest before you even see them is an experience you'll never forget. Afterwards we'll return to the lodge for lunch before heading out on an afternoon boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. This is one of the best places in Uganda to see wildlife from the water. Expect huge numbers of hippos, buffalo cooling off along the shoreline, elephants coming down to drink and incredible birdlife all around us. Overnight in Queen Elizabeth Park.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park to Ishasha. This morning we'll have the option of heading out for another game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park before continuing south towards the Ishasha Sector. Ishasha is famous for something very special - its tree-climbing lions. We'll head out on safari searching for them lounging high in the branches of fig trees, as well as elephants, antelope and the other wildlife that call this remote part of the park home. There's something pretty surreal about looking UP into a tree to find a lion staring back at you! Overnight in Ishasha.

Day 8: Ishasha to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. After breakfast, we leave the open savannah behind and make our way towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The scenery changes completely as we travel through lush green countryside, banana plantations and tea-growing regions towards one of Africa's most famous forests. Bwindi is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, but of course there's one animal we're all here to see...Tomorrow we meet the mountain gorillas. We'll check into our lodge, have dinner and get an early night ready for one of the biggest days of the entire trip. Overnight near Bwindi Forest.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Community Experience. Today is THE day. 🦍 After an early breakfast, we'll head to the park headquarters for our gorilla trekking briefing before entering Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with our guides and rangers. The trek can take anywhere from a couple of hours to several hours depending on where the gorillas are that day, that's all part of the adventure. Once we find them, we'll have one incredible hour observing a mountain gorilla family in their natural habitat. No cage. No glass. Just you, standing in the rainforest metres away from one of the world's most incredible animals. After the trek we'll return to our lodge to freshen up before visiting the Batwa community, where we'll learn about the traditions and history of the people who once lived within the forests of Bwindi. Day 10: Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park & Walking Safari. After breakfast, we begin our journey towards Lake Mburo National Park, one of Uganda's smaller but incredibly beautiful national parks.
We'll travel through the countryside and stop at the Equator for the obligatory photos and Equator experience before continuing to our lodge. After lunch, we'll head into the park for an evening walking safari or game drive. Exploring the African bush on foot is a completely different safari experience and gives you the chance to slow down and notice the smaller things you often miss from a vehicle. Overnight in Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 11: Lake Mburo to Entebbe & Shoebill Tracking. After breakfast, we begin our journey back towards Entebbe, but the wildlife isn't finished with us yet. We'll make our way to Mabamba Swamp for one final very special experience - searching for the prehistoric-looking shoebill stork. We'll head into the wetlands in search of one of Africa's most unusual and sought-after birds. If you've never seen a shoebill before, Google it... you'll understand why people travel across the world just to see one! After our shoebill experience, we'll continue to our hotel in Entebbe for our final night together. Overnight in Entebbe.

Day 12: Departure Day. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Today is a relaxed final day in Entebbe. Depending on your flight time, you'll have time to chill at the hotel, pick up any last-minute souvenirs or simply recover from what has been a pretty epic 12 days. From tracking rhinos on foot and searching for tree-climbing lions to cruising the Nile, trekking with chimpanzees, finding shoebills and standing metres away from mountain gorillas in the wild - this is one of those trips you'll be talking about for years. We'll then transfer to Entebbe International Airport for our flights home.

The Itinerary may be subject to small changes due to any unforeseen circumstances that may arise. Brenda will be your tour leader on this trip! All rooms on our trips are shared, with two people per room. We’ll match you with an adventure buddy, giving you the perfect chance to make new friends! To keep things fresh, you’ll switch roommates every couple of nights and connect with someone new or you can choose to stay together.
If you are happy with the itinerary and want to go ahead. A deposit of €650 will be required to secure your booking within upon confirmation of spot. This deposit is non-refundable. The deposit is non-refundable due to several important factors. When you book a place on the tour, I immediately begin the process of planning, booking of flights and preparing for your journey. These preparations often involve upfront costs that are incurred from the moment your booking is confirmed. In addition, by requiring a non-refundable deposit, I aim to ensure that all participants are committed to the trip.
The balance will be due 10 weeks before trip start date (24th of April 2027). You can make the payments in instalments after the deposit is paid if that suits you. With regards to a refund: Your deposit is non-refundable. The deposit is required to book all flights, accomm etc. For the balance of your payment €2925, I may be able to refund this up 10 weeks before the trip should you have an emergency and need to cancel. Anything closer then 10 weeks, and I cannot refund you.
It is mandatory you take out comprehensive travel-insurance that covers trip cancellations, that way should you have to cancel you are covered, you will get a full pay out from your insurance company. Keep an eye on the excess required.

By paying your deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions above. This forms a legally binding agreement between you (“the Traveller”) and the tour operator (“JATT”). Your deposit secures your place on the trip and is strictly non-refundable and non-transferable. Once paid, you are committed to the booking and agree to pay the remaining balance by the specified due date (10 weeks before departure). Failure to do so may result in cancellation of your booking and forfeiture of all payments made.

If you cancel your trip, the following applies:

More than 10 weeks before departure: Loss of deposit only
Less than 10 weeks: 100% non-refundable
All cancellations must be made in writing.

If a trip is cancelled by us, a full refund will be issued (excluding personal expenses such as flights).
